MARIETTA, GA, June 11,  2007  Home Solutions by FloorExpo is happy to announce the addition of new Member Contemporary Flooring & Design, located in Bridgeton, MO.

Celebrating nearly 30 years in business, Contemporary Flooring’s solid reputation in the market precedes it.   Tom Chamberlain, president and CEO, began his career in the retail flooring business 42 years ago.  After spending some time in Dalton, GA, Tom eventually opened his own business in St. Louis.  In fact, having spent time as an installer himself, Tom instituted a practice he abides by today:  promoting from within, giving those who began as installers an opportunity to advance their careers with the company.   To this day, more than half of the current management team are former installers!

Why Home Solutions?  “Right now, as independent flooring contractors, it’s critical for us to partner with like businesses to confront the conditions in today’s market,” says Tom. He admits, “It’s become more difficult for me to compete with builders and negotiate with suppliers on my own.”

Tom also credits Henges Interiors’ involvement in the group for helping him make the decision to join.  While the two businesses are friendly competitors, Tom has only praise for the fellow Home Solutions Member. The mutual respect goes both ways; Henges CEO Steve Schulte and Curly Kuldell, president, speak just as highly of Tom.  Together, they are addressing the various supply conditions in the local marketplace.

Having opened a new facility just seven weeks ago, Tom’s schedule remains hectic, but already Contemporary has proven to be a tremendous advocate for both Home Solutions and the Home Solutions Design Community.
